A wide choice of sponsorship opportunities are available for the Damariscotta Pirate Rendezvous.  Ranging from monetary support to help cover expenses to simply providing a team of volunteers to complete certain tasks, anyone should be able to find a way to assist at the event. Proceeds from the Pirate Rendezvous go to Lincoln County Family Holiday Wishes, a food and gift drive that benefited over 596 local children and families during the Christmas season last year.

“We want to make it possible for all individuals and businesses to support Family Holiday Wishes through the Damariscotta Pirate Rendezvous,” said event director Greg Latimer. “So we’re offering participation levels that include sponsorships with no requirement for financial support.”

One of these choices is the Participating Sponsorship level in which a local business can provide a team of three or more volunteers for the day. These teams will be assigned to specific activities and will work together through the day. The location where the team will be working will include a poster acknowledging the Participating Sponsor, and the team can hand out information about the sponsor if they wish to. Other types of Participating Sponsorships are also available, and a Participating Sponsorship can be customized to the particular needs of an individual or business.

Another choice is a Supporting Sponsorship in which the business or individual donates goods or services needed by the Pirate Rendezvous. For more information on these sponsorships, contact the Pirate Rendezvous through the telephone number or e-mail at the end this page.

Sponsorships involving financial support of the Damariscotta Pirate Rendezvous are also important. “These sponsorships go to cover some of the expenses incurred in producing the event, such as the armed pirate ship, our musical entertainment, construction of the children’s games and purchase of equipment and prizes,” Latimer said. “By covering these expenses, our sponsors allow more of the funds generated during the event to benefit Family Holiday Wishes.”  For information on participating in the Pirate Rendezvous as a volunteer or sponsor, please contact Greg Latimer at 207-380-9912 piraterendezvous@yahoo.com .
